These are very heavy duty – really nice. I took the advice of another reviewer to make fit to my small balcony railing. I went to Home Depot and had them cut to length two 1-inch by 1-inch pieces of wood. I used both glue and screws to attach the wood to the bottom of the planter where it fits onto the railing. I used black paint on the wood to match the planter, so it is very discreet. It is very sturdy on my balcony railing. It is heavy gauge plastic, which feels like good quality. We have had a couple really windy days and storms, and still not even a little bit of a budge. Meanwhile, the size is great. Please also listen to other reviewers – BEFORE you plant you have to knock out the drainage holes. i used a screw driver and a rubber mallet. If I can do this anyone can. I definitely recommend the planter. (I have two of them)
